Development of a novel integrated value engineering and risk assessment (VENRA) framework for shipyard performance measurement: a case study for an Indonesian shipyard

Shipyard industries affect the performance of manufactured ships. A designed ship needs well-performed shipbuilders to construct following quality, timeline, budget, and environmental impact future challenges. measurement, including shipbuilding, repair, conversion, will remain important as it is a powerful tool for strategic enhancement. This study proposes conceptual transdisciplinary framework shipyard measurement through integrated Value Engineering Risk Assessment (VENRA). The comprises five criteria groups: Technical, Business, External, Personnel Safety, Environment, assessed by fuzzy DEcision-MAking Trial Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) Weighted Technique (WET) methods applied an Indonesian shipyard. ‘Shipyard’s manufacturing facility’ ‘Manufacturing/building strategy’ are most critical factors, while ‘Personnel’ ‘Technology Level’ significantly influence other criteria. can determine shipyard’s lowest score within prioritised sub-criteria evaluate cause–effect link prioritise steps improve performance.
